Gabriel Garbow is a visual artist based in Puerto Vallarta, renowned for his watercolors full of color, intimacy, and energy. His work combines influences from pop art, contemporary screen printing, and classic illustration, exploring scenes of men and couples from a warm and deeply human perspective.


Originally from the small town of Red Wing, Minnesota, Gabriel Garbow grew up surrounded by nature, climbing cliffs and letting his imagination guide his creative life. His passion for drawing and painting led him to travel to major art cities such as New York, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Sacramento, and San Francisco, before finding his creative home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Currently, Garbow works from his home studio in Vallarta, where he brings to life watercolors that reflect the life he always dreamed of. His distinctive style fuses contemporary screen printing, pop art, and early 20th-century illustration. Influenced by artists such as David Hockney, Douglas Simonson, Egon Schiele, and Marc Silvestri, his work explores the space between the artistic and the everyday.

Gabriel Garbow's pieces are known for conveying a sense of peace, joy, energy, and intimacy. His most recent series explore scenes of men in natural settings and couples in domestic spaces, celebrating connection, vulnerability, and the beauty of simple moments. His work brings a fresh and authentic voice to contemporary LGBTQ+ art, making him an artistic touchstone within the Puerto Vallarta cultural scene.
