The Void is Filled: Dust Off Your Boots for Sunday Vaqueros at Eagle PV

The Void is Filled: Dust Off Your Boots for Sunday Vaqueros at Eagle PV

By Joey Martinez June 8th, 2026 This past Sunday, June 7th, the "Vaqueros" (cowboy) afternoons kicked off at the new bar in town called Eagle Bar. Miguel Angel, former owner of the famous No Borders bar, has joined forces with the owner of this new establishment, Memo Huerta, to bring back the Mexican music missing from the bars in the port.

Since La Cueva Cantina shrank to a very small space, and with the closure of Los Equipales and Bar Los Amigos, locals and fans have lost places to dance to regional favorites like Banda, Cumbia, Salsa, and Merengue. Thanks to Miguel Angel's initiative and Memo's cooperation, they've come together to fill the void that locals felt, providing a space for the rhythms that make us dance, sweat, and celebrate our culture.

Eagle Bar is located at 525 Lazaro Cardenas Street, just 5 blocks from Paco's Ranch and La Noche bars, and only 3 blocks from Reinas Bar & Vallarta Gay Clinic. It's located on the second floor of the “Arte Hogar Chino” store, and its entrance is directly across the street from the new ONYX bar. The facade is black and at night, it's illuminated with a red light. Going up the stairs, you pass through a hallway to the end, and that's where the bar entrance is. The bar has a pool table, a dance floor, and a few areas to get into some mischief.

There's no cover charge for these Sunday cowboy afternoons. Customers can enjoy delicious, complimentary Carne Asada with the purchase of their drinks, and beers are two-for-one all afternoon! For the grand opening, a stunning go-go dancer from the US turned up the heat in various cowboy outfits, causing quite a stir. The crowd loved the dancing, the drink specials, and the pool games—and, of course, everyone took advantage of the dance floor to move to Banda and Cumbia.

This coming Sunday, the cowboys and bears will unite for Sunday barbecues. Join the fun from 2 pm to 6 pm every Sunday to enjoy delicious grilled meat, beer, and good times at Eagle Puerto Vallarta. And most importantly for this summer, they have A/C!
