Festival dedicated to the mariachi culture, in favor of Mexican roots, the education and the professionalization of the new generations of musicians.
Workshops, conferences and shows are part of the general program of Al calor del mariachi, Summer Festival at the following venues: Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center and the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center. The educational program will include 3 consecutive days of professional workshops and master classes for mariachi (intermediate and advanced levels) by Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán. Also a series of conferences given by MNT's General Director, Ángel Martínez. Presentations by international, national and local mariachis, as well as 2 major concerts, are included in the artistic program: The Grand Public Concert at the Los Arcos del Malecón and the Grand Concert of the Mariachi Femenil Nuevo Tecalitlán at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center. A complete exhibition of products and services, cuisine, folkloric dance, plastic arts and fashion related to the world of mariachi will be available to the public. The "El Sol de Vallarta" award will be given to a representative of the art and culture of the region as part of the "Al Calor del Mariachi" festival. Most of the funds raised by the festival will be used to support the professional education of outstanding musicians.
